Middle-earth

There was a time when the world was slowly plunging into darkness and chaos. A time with witchcraft and sorcery. A time where nearly none stood against evil.

During the 2nd Age the young prince of ancient Eldorin lost his father, King Aldan, when he was only 25 years old in the holy war. Thus making him to be the youngest King set to rule over Eldorin for centuries. Things were dire in this era, because this was the time were demons walked the earth of Midgard, scorching all life and seeking to destroy all the races or convert them, led by the Archdemon Adramelech, The king of Fire.

The newly crowned king knew things were grim. The demons have invaded without warning, and many cities that were both ally and friend to Eldorin were razed to the ground. The list of allies grew thin, the people began to let fear overcome them. Some people tried to flee to other countries or hide. But there were no places to hide from the demonic armies. Scattered and frightened, people were slain like animals one by one. The elves took refuge in the dark woods, the dwarves shut their gates to the underground and the mighty minotaurs also hid underneath their great gates into The Underdark. would this be the end of mankind?

One night The King of Eldorin had a dream. He saw a sky with white clouds, filled with blinding sunlight.
In the midst of the clouds he saw feather and claw. Bursting through came even a stronger light, engulfing the mighty beast appearing before him. It hovered before him as it let out a piercing roar. It was a Griffin, one of the mythical creatures of Midgard, a wild and pure animal, mighty and graceful with amazing power and speed making them masters of the sky.

The young king suddenly heard a voice in his mind, a harmonic voice, almost elusive.
"Our world must not falter, it cannot become a part of the realms of fire and death. Your purity shines strong enough to pierce the clouds of hell, now I have found you! What will you do? take up the infernal blades and join the armies of fire, or will you fight for your people, even if it means your end?"

The young King kneeled before the mighty griffin.

"I do not have any other choice mighty Griffin, I will fight untill death, even if I stand alone!"

Suddenly the griffins eyes burned with a pure blue flame. Then the fire lit up even stronger, like a blue flash! Piercing the eyes and the soul of the young king, making him blind for a brief moment. Whilst darkness slowly engulfed the king, the entity replied as the dream began to blur out.

"Oh but you shall not stand alone young king.."

The king woke up, dreanched in sweat. His eyes in searing pain, blurring his vision. He felt a warm liquid coming from his eyes, he touched it and looked at his fingers. It was blood. He got up from bed and walked straight to the mirror to see what was wrong with his eyes.

To his surprise his eyes radiated with tiny blue flames, and within his mind he felt a presence, a similar presence to that which he had experienced in his dream. The sensation came from outside, and so he turned his head towards the balcony and walked to find the source of the tingling in his mind.

On the roof over the balcony sat the same Griffin majestically with his wings folded. The blue lights in both their eyes intensified as memories of the griffins life poured into the kings mind. He now understood the formidable intellect of the beast, its love for justice and peace, but also the the suffering and pain its own kin have experienced in the last few months caused by the demonic army.
The young knight and the white-feathered griffin nodded at the same time as if looking in a mirror, as if they were one, and they were, only stronger.

Next morning the royal order of knights traveled in haste on horseback to the mountains of Doras where the griffins nested, led by King Ademus riding on the griffins pack leader "Whiteclaw". The knights with pure hearts were chosen by a griffin following the ritual of bonding initiated by the griffins themselves.
The knights proved worthy, and they did not leave on the back of a horse that day.

This new alliance changed the war. The demonic armies were vanquished by the combined powers of the Griffins and the paladins of Eldorin, The Order of Light. And thus The Griffin Empire arose from the ashes, and peace followed by this union for many centuries.
