Mana, The Weave flowing from Aru

It is said that Aru`s breath itself gives life, mana. By pouring out magical energies, radiating the worlds it grants the oppurtunity to harvest the power of mana by those that posess the ability to do so.

Magic in Middle-earth is known as a mystical powerful force which can be manipulated. Those that have an inborn ability are mages and can direct magical energy - known as mana or The Weave - to produce almost any effect.

Mana is the ambient energy that empowers magic, thus making certain areas contain more or even no mana.

Sensing mana

Mages or people with magery cannot automatically sense the level of mana in an area, but they may sense the change when they cross a boundary between levels if perceptive or powerful enough.
