Middle-earth

There was a time when the world was slowly plunging into darkness and chaos. A time with witchcraft and sorcery. A time where nearly none stood against evil.

The Orcish People:
Descendants of the first greenskins, orcs adapt to any environment they settle in, be it a climate of warm summer or a cold harsh winter.

Orcs, the creation of Morgoroth himself. Although the greenskins have a reputation ranging from being cannibals, sadists to bloodthristy savages, not every orc is the same. Namely the Kadri, Brown and bright green Orcs. Their evil kinsmen have made this "evil race" unjustly maligned, portrayed as mindlessly wicked, more sinned against than sinner. Orcs that have broken free from Morgoroth`s taint remain as misunderstood outsiders. Their reputation as ferocious warriors is the only trait that relates them to their callous brothers and sisters. They are called greenskins by the other races.

The evil aligned orcs:

Black Orcs:
Black Orcs get their name from having darker skin than regular Orcs; commonly black or very dark green. The Orcs that are closest to their demonic prince gain a red hue to their skintone, their very blood boiling with power. These are the residue of Morgoroth`s taint. Obsessed with gaining dominance and control over anything they can grasp. They kill everything in their wake as brutal and mercilessly as possible. Giving prisoners a good torture is always a pleasure, watching the children of Aru squirm in pain.

Cultural aspect:
The only thing that even comes close to keeping the evil aligned orcs in line is fear. Not simple fear, like I might spill shampoo on the carpet. Real fear. Example: The chief will rip his gut open and leave him exposed in the sun and see how long it takes from him to dry up. Or lop off a body part and feed it to the dogs/wolves.

- Hair colour: Brown, black, red, gray or white.

Country: Demonia (Atul language: "Dem": Darkened, "Onia": Spirits)

The good or neutral aligned Orcs:

What was their history? What kind of culture did they have? What about their hopes, fears, spiritual beliefs and social organization? Save the perception that they're formidable fighters, some of them become shamans or druids. These individuals either commune with nature or their spiritual side as monks. These orcs do not suffer from the race's rule of animosity. Those of the good aligned orcs that never settle down join tribes that live as nomads, travelling Middle-Earth. Perhaps to find a place to call their own home someday.

How orccan favouring a Lawful alignment over Chaotic: Lawful means showing them that Order can be better than disorder. Giving up freedom for power might be a good angle too. Discipline for Strength, etc. It's really a question of how the player wants to try and accomplish this. It's not a question of a Saving Throw, it's about people (orcs, in this case) changing their minds about how to act and what they value as important.

Brown and bright green Orcs (Kadri):

Willful and independent-minded. They are known as Brown or bright green Orcs due to their different skin tone. They broke free from the will of Morgoroth many centuries ago as they travelled away from their homeland Demonia. The further away from the raging volcanoes they travelled, the more awakened they became. As of today the Brown Orcs have tribes led by shamans or barbaric warlords which inhabit mountains, hills or any similar terrain. The bright green orcs known as Kadri, reside in forests and other lush and green terrain. Although they are a people of the wild they eventually began to show a sense of nobility. Still as of today the Brown Orcs are mistaken for being as callous as their greenskin relatives.

- Hair colour: Brown, black, red, gray, white or green.

Country: They have tribes in both Eledar and Eldorin in remote locations or in the mountains. In the Western Kingdoms, Monazdria and Baraz also house many of the Brown Orcs. It is said that the heart of the Brown Orc`s clan is located in the merciless rocky spiers of Doras, but none venture there due to its hostile environment.

Grey Orcs:

Gray Orcs hail from Raxxan. They are a disciplined people which have evolved alongside the humans that reside in Raxxan . Grey Orcs adhere to what you might call a code of honor, making them more than common murderers, although they are indeed dangerous.

The Grey orcs or Raxxan house strong military states centered around powerful clans, and they practice Bushidō, literally "the way of the warrior", loosely analogous to the concept of chivalry. It originates from the samurai moral code stressing frugality, loyalty, martial arts mastery, and honor unto death. Some of the grey orcs spend their lives training as monks, learning and mastering the strange Ki flow called The Hado. The Hado is a combination of Morgoroth`s taint and the spiritual power of the orcs. Those who embrace the teachings of the Hado either do it to serve evil or their own desires. Those who walk the other path become spiritual masters of the Hado, and train as monks. These monks usually wear bright colours (white, blue, red etc.) Any race with orcblood can learn about the Hado and become true masters of the art. Other races can embark on this path, but can never achieve the same mastery and control as orcblooded races can.
