Middle-earth

There was a time when the world was slowly plunging into darkness and chaos. A time with witchcraft and sorcery. A time where nearly none stood against evil.

Oriania

Oriania and the Silver Cities Oriani12

4,7 million people

Oriania is one of the many beautiful areas in Middle-earth. Only ruins and historic landmarks hailing from the golden age of the ancient Lionheart Empire can tell its tale. The Grand Silver Cities of Oriania can be found in isolated locations scattered around the great landscape, making travel from one city to another a timeconsumer when it comes to travel through the land. Oriania is mostly unscathed with lush and green forests, beautiful valleys and mighty mountains rising towards the sky. They are rumored to be rich with minerals. The Silver Cities are huge metropolis fortresses or castles strategically build where cliffs and mountain tops or rivers and lakes can be found. These wonders are known for their gargantuan towers that streach up to greet the rising sun in the morning. All of the castles are built on mountainhills or similar bedrock.

Capitol: Thal`lan

Ruler: Ramiel III

Races: Human, 0,01% gnomes

Population in capitol: 1,700 000

The rest: 600 000 each of the five other Silver Cities

Politics and history

In the second age King Elidyr ruled Oriania with his four sons. The demonic invasion in Middle-earth was heavily concentrated in the lands of Oriania. An army of diabolical gnolls and demons left the drowning in their own blood. It was not until the Battle of four Sons, when much of Oriania drowned in its own blood, that Elidyr finally triumphed over the invaders. He and his sons, each bold knights and great champions in their own right, formed a wedge and rode their magnificent charges through the unruly ranks, driving deep to reach its monstrous heart.
The four sons died in their charge into the center of evil, and King Elidyr where challenged to single conflict against the gnoll leader, the demigod, known as White ruin. King Elidyr slew the demigod after nine days and nights. The five Silver citites stand as monuments to their ironclad will, vigilance and sacrifice.

For one millenia ago the Lionheart Empire allied themselves with the Griffin Order, but today the Lionheart order is all but history. Today Oriania is ruled by king Ramiel III with an order of advicers called Old Taldor that resides in the Silver cities. Old Taldor is powerful, but they do not dare to cross the Orianian druids out in the wilds. Taldor are allowed to take only what they need to survive within their great white walls. The Leader is Ramiel the third, he or his predesessors have never spoken to the people in person, only his advisor Duma the vigilant, deals with the public. Law is highly valued in Oriania, and punishment is swiftly dealt by the Silver Agents.

Animal life:
Oriania is full of animals like Hares, rabbits, deer, wildboar. Carnivores include the fox, the genet, and the rare wildcat. Among smaller species are the badger, the otter, the beaver, and the brown bear. There is also rumored that the unicorn walk the forests of Oriania, guarding the wilds alongside the druids in Oriania. Other magical beasts have been sighted as well.

Sea life:
The tortoise, seals and the blue shark inhabit the northern waters amongst some sea birds and small fish. The infamous Seaserpents have been spottet far out on the deep sea to the North and West.

Economy

Trading and imports by ship is the most important to the two Northern cities which deploy multiple caravans to the other four lesser cities, rendering them able to spare most of the lands when in comes to building materials and food, in return they gain the druids`s favor.

Their own crafts:

Iron smelters->steel smelters->blacksmithing->armory/weapons->tools
Gnomish crafts (Inventions and creations)
Herbalism->reagents->components->herbs for food or potions
Gold veins->gold coins for the kingdom->food plates/goblets->gold bars

A small unit responsible of providing fresh meat through cattle, sheep and pigfarms in each of the two Northern cities.

Dependant on imports

Economic status in Thal`lan:
The economy is quite strong as long as trading by sea is maintained, and the caravans deploy the goods. Oriania have the purest gold veins in the Kingdoms, and so they supply the Eastern Kingdoms with gold as the amount grows. This business is watched carefully and performed by authorised personell to avoid frauds and inflation.

Military defensive/offensive force, siege weapons

Capitol:Very Strong

The lands: No fortifications or inhabitants other than a few farms living in solitude. There is also som larger cities, but they are mor vulnerable than the Silver Cities. Settlements can be found spread out through the land too.

Allies

No agreements or specific treaties of comradeship is active other than the peace-treaty with the druids, and the distribution of gold coins. Oriania is focused on building their own empire and maintaining balance.

Organized magic

The Druids of Oriania are as mysterious as they are a rare sight, but the Inhabitants of the Silver Cities respect them and their wisdom greatly. The Silver Agents are governed by priest that serves as divine figures in Oriania, blessed with divine capabilities.
