Death is meant to free our souls, not devour them.
- Libertarius, Celestial emissary of Leos, Grand Knight of the Phoenix Order
His/her expexations to others:
A paladin does not expect "non-believers" to obey the laws of his faith. He hopes that through his shining example people or teammates will come to see the value of his code. He guides the party to consider mercy, but does not expect them to follow oaths they did not swear. Making people do Good under threat of punishment violates the way of the Paladin, as he cannot force his views of life unto others as tyrants and dictators usually do.
The quest itself important. Because the journey itself will shape the individual, preparing one for the hardest of trials in the future.
The faith:
A paladins own past may not be lily-white, and he recognizes that true Faith takes time; he is patient with other individuals.
