| Tema: The red crystals of Eledar (A dwarven mining guide) Lør Feb 18, 2012 9:41 pm | |
| The Red CrystalsThe red crystals, or red coloured rock, can be mined from the northeastern mountains of Eledar. Only dwarves know the technique of harvesting the mineral, and dwarves dont usually share their secrets. The bricks are magnetic, and if refined into a sandlike powder they stick to each other in the same way. The refining technique is dwarven as well. The biggest vein of red crystal can be found at the only dwarven fort in Eledar, constructed at the Northwestern part of the mountain Rysh. Although its a tiny mountain it actually goes very deep underground, with many caves and dark places left unexplored. The castle itself is now under the control of the Wolf Empire after the dwarves were driven out by a violent and bloody war 40 years ago. Now the castle is guarded by elite soldiers from the Wolf clan. This area used to be a mining facility that prospered when the dwarves lived here. They buildt the castle out of red mineral, making it quite solid, making it oddly-looking due to its redish colour, but still very beautiful to behold. Only the wealthiest can afford this material considering the lack of availibility and skill. The castle is as of today supposedly used as a heavily guarded vault containing magic items and mysterious relics. - Red crystal is very tough and durable - Contains magnetic energies and has magical properties, can be used to different things within magical rituals and such procedures. | |
