| A Slayer`s guidebook Elements of a monsterWritten by Balmord Whitefall, Giantbane. Every monster has characteristics that describe its behavior and abilities. This guide describes if they organize themselves or not, and which environment they usually live in. The "Special qualities"-section describe innate aspects of the monster, and how to defend against their offensive and passive powers. To increase your chances of success you need to have the apropriate gear availible up front. Rely on skill, appropriate tools and equipment, because your luck will eventually run out. Some large creatures may prove challenging to defeat, especially winged opponents. Examples of offensive power are light and mobile siege weapons armed with nets or oils. Ballistas tied to a tough rope to get a hold onto them, and try getting it to the ground can work. And stay under cover as the creature swoops overhead!Chapter 1: Evaluating your target:- What is it known to do?
- How does it usually hunt or fight?
- How big is it?
- What is its most important defense?
- What is its most common form of attack?
- Can it be lured into a trap?
- Is the creature intelligent?
- Does it have any weaknesses?- Does the creature have allies?(The heavy book is bound in some kind of large and hard reptilian`s leather. The book`s content continues on about many kinds of large creatures, land and air, mountain and forest. There is also a special section that serves as a guide for the Upperdark, the first level of Underdark.) | |
